In the run up to the Connected. Peter Kogler with… exhibition in the Kunsthaus Graz, Austrian international media artist Peter Kogler makes a double appearance at Klanglicht 2019. Visitors encounter his hypnotic patterns both at the BIX media façade and out and about in the city. Scarves with net like designs are becoming a highly visible part of the festival – as are the public, who are wearing them around their necks. Klanglicht Connected thus links Peter Kogler’s art directly with Klanglicht visitors.

Peter Kogler has worked as a media artist since the 1980s, with computer graphics, film, collage and architecture. His systematic engagement with the technical, reproducible image and the power of the media makes him – in the context of the influence of the digital on everyday life today – a visionary interacting with the power of the masses.

“Ich freue mich auf eine ‚leuchtende‘ Menschenmenge vor dem Kunsthaus, die Teil eines Werkes von Peter Kogler werden und sich danach auch ihren persönlichen Kogler mit nach Hause nehmen. … ein wunderbares Bild eines realen Nachhalls des Ereignisses!”
– Katrin Bucher Trantow, Chefkuratorin Kunsthaus Graz
