REVERSE
“Reverse” – English for “turn around” and at the same time a play on the French “rêve” for “dream” – transports visitors into a dreamlike confusion of space and time. Yann Nguema’s installation shows a contemplative choreography on the Graz Clock Tower, which allows the architecture of the building to step out of itself, emerge again and again from other dimensions and reassemble itself. The layers overlap with both technical and aesthetic elegance; complex, luminous images emerge from fractals, evoking associations with magical dream worlds. Nguema, currently an ambassador for the Lyon Festival of Lights, is an artist, designer, musician and programmer with a background in science who uses technology, research and poetry to effectively merge light and sound.

Biography:
As the founder of the French visual label EZ3kiel, Yann Nguema has been behind countless projects in the 25 years of its existence, with which the former scientist has established himself on the international art scene. He has not turned completely against science, as his projects are actually based on technology, research and art. He explores and exploits the relationships between image and sound, creating his own software tools and thus enriching the exhibition with interactive sparks.
