In cooperation with KLANGLICHT, the HALLE FÜR KUNST Steiermark presents a commissioned work by Norbert Pfaffenbichler. Pfaffenbichler is a conceptual artist and a key protagonist of Austrian experimental film. With his often opulent works, which oscillate between horror and humor, he opens up new perspectives on the world. The surrealistic video installation “PANDORAS BOX PARTY” shows high-contrast images of countless interwoven and distorted human bodies in constant metamorphosis. Projected onto the inside of the glass cube, the projection is only visible to the audience from the outside, but seems to transcend all real physical boundaries. The resulting eerie atmosphere is reinforced by deep, sombre and choral drones by musician Wolfgang Frisch. At the same time, abstract lyrical text animations by author Barbara Kaufman on the subject of dreams and transformation are broadcast on monitors in the outdoor area.
