Båll & Brand

The ice is melting at the Pøules

13 million liters of ice melt every second worldwide. This installation, in which both melt water and sound recordings from the Dachstein glacier massif were used, tells the story. The work on display at KLANGLICHT, The Ice is Melting at the Pøules, is one of the sub-projects of the total art project wearemelting.art by the Danish artist collective Båll & Brand. The latter will be staged around the globe and will conclude in 2024 at the World Climate Summit in New York.

Biography:
Båll & Brand is a Danish artist collective specializing in atmospheric installations and scenography. Together with their team, artists Martin Ersted and David Ruben blur the boundaries between aesthetics, technology and science. Their mostly site-specific interventions encourage reflection on our world and our society. The music composer and sound artist Robotic Folk, who acoustically underpinned “The Ice is Melting at the Pøules”, moves from orchestral to electronic between different means of musical expression and thus also creates a pointed sound for each visuality.
